Over the last six months Ardent has been working with Building Malawi, a UK based charity, set up to help build sustainable Malawian run schools, libraries and a sports academy for local children of all ages. Their aim is to create opportunities and experiences for local children, helping to equip them with skills and friendships for the years to come. Once completed, these facilities should become fully self- sufficient generating income that will benefit the whole community.
The charity was set up many years ago by Tom Bowden’s family with the vision to enhance communities and ensure that all donations go directly to the cause so that maximum impact could be made. Whilst Ardent’s involvement has only been minor in comparison to the many years of hard work and determination of Tom and the Trustees, we very much hope to be able to work closely with the charity to assist them with their current projects and future aspirations.
An ongoing challenge for Building Malawi is the need for people with legal expertise to complete proposals and tenders on behalf of the charity to ensure further support from other third-party organisations.
